Raegan is 16 Months old!
- I gave up on the 16 month picture. Hopeless. Absolutely hopeless.
- I will do my best to focus on the 16th month here...even though we are quickly approaching 18 months! Hello, belated.
- I'm going to put it out there-it was a bad month to make the goal mentioned in the previous blog post. You know this. I know this. Either way - I'm not giving up! The Type-A in me has already created my own personal process to get back to an organized life. :) Step 1 : CATCH UP!
Month 16 = Awesome!
Let's do this!
- New words...I can't even keep up. She's essentially attempting to say almost anything we coach her on. Some of my new faves from the 16th month are: "choo choo" (train).."da da" turned into "daddee" (obviously, Chuck's favorite) Other than that, she pretty much repeats the last word of anything we say. "Raegan, want to go for a ride?" "RIIDE!" "Raegan, do you need to go potty?" "POT TEE!" She loves to talk.
- Loves her baby doll. Rocks her, shushes her, sways with her, pushes her in the stroller. De De surprised us by bringing up my old baby bunk beds and high chair. Raegan put the highchair to use immediately! She loves to feed her "ba-bee" and instruct her to "Drink! Drink! Eat! Eat!" The bunk beds have caused some disciplinarian action, though...Raegan thinks they are for her to climb on and enjoy herself.
- Has started growling. Thinks it's hilarious to growl...thinks it's even more hilarious when someone else growls.
- Has a few new games she likes to play: pretend picnics with daddy; throwing Gabby her toys; having tea parties; playing with lids, doing things just like mommy and daddy; playing peek-a-boo; and one of the funniest to watch: band-aid game...where she takes them out of their box, goes into mine and Chuck's closet, lifts the lid on our clothes hamper, and drops them in. One by one. It's cute until it's time for laundry and I've forgotten to clean the hamper out. Beyond that, she is still obsessed with books (makes these sounds like she is saying her vowels when she pretends to read...I guess we sound a little choppy when we read her books "A" "E" "I "O" "U")...
Books!

Tea Party!

Picnic with Daddy!
Hide the band-aids!
"PE PI!"
Doing things like mommy!
Loves mommy's jewelry
Trying to put on the bunny ears and hop like mommy
Has a complete melt down if I'm sweeping and she doesn't get to help
- She really likes art. Her teachers at school say that she enjoys art time in class. So, I decided to break out the crayons and let her delve into her artistic side in the comfort of her own home. Annnd....this is out that worked out:
- Has come to realize, and verbalize, that if daddy isn't home, he's usually playing "golll" or "at wuk". Chuck even taught her to do a golf swing when she (or anyone else) mentions golf. He claims that there are millions of dollars out there for female golf scholarships. No pressure, Rae.
- Loves to sit in chairs. She sits, looks around, and giggles. She feels like such a big girl!
- Likes to point out and name people in pictures. "BEEEE! Nan-Nan!"
- Continues to be into everything. EVERYTHING.
Scenes like the above seem to constantly be around every corner BUSTED!
- Has jumped from 25th percentile in weight to 60 something. In 4 months…The only thing that makes me feel better is that she went up drastically in all other areas too…just not as much as weight. 23.8 lbs. Her cheeks and tummy are out of control! :)
- Mocks us by reprimanding Gabby. "No, No, babby!"; "Sit! Sit!"...all while pointing and shaking her index finger, of course. When she's not bossing Gabby around, she likes to "pat pat" her...which, we have to be extremely careful with, being that we never know when we're going to get "Gabby" versus "Crabby".
- Loves being outside. Loves it. Likes to walk in grass, listen for "air panes", watch for birds, etc.

Tummy!
- Shakes her head and says “no no no no” before she proceeds to do what she is not supposed to do.
- Teething...STILL. I honestly think that 8 are going to pop through at any given minute. Lots of drool...lots of fussiness...and lots of ibprofin.
- Bedtime remains 8pm but she’s becoming more difficult to get down. Books turn into more books, turn into songs, more songs, another book, and rocking. I fall for it every time. I’m putting my foot down this month. 3 books. Night night! Still, most nights, she is asleep by 8:30. But, get this, her former auto wake up time of 7am is now after 8am and sometimes 9! WHAT?!?!?!?!? Naps, on average, an hour and 15 min a day. 1 nap. Around 12:30.
Oh, Bitsy, I would say that we are so excited about month Month 17...but, since this posting is so belated, I already know how great the 17th Month was!
