Between strolling around neighborhoods, playdates, my going back to the gym, getting Raegan ready to start daycare (a subject that warrants its own separate post), getting myself ready to go back to work (ditto), hosting weekend visitors, and just simply enjoying our time together-the blog inevitably gets put on the back burner.

Workin' On a New Layout

I know, I know, I know...I'm already updating my Blog layout. I assure you that it's not because I have tons of time on my hands, but rather because I'm over the damask. Say it ain't so, right?

Here's the deal, I love damask. Who doesn't? But, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. The busy background was making me dizzy!

So, say goodbye to the damask...

I'll be working on the new layout today.

I've already downloaded one-I just need to reformat it a little. During Raegan's naps, I'll be working on it. I promise that it will look better than it does right now.

Happy 3 Months, Raegan!

Raegan is 3 Months Old!

It's hard to imagine life before this little Bitsy. Weighing in at 11.5 ounces, Raegan is what our entire world revolves around. And, I have to say, it's simply the best feeling ever.

Chuck and I have both really made a cognoscente effort to enjoy every single phase that she's in while not wishing the time away. I'm so happy that we've done that. It has definitely helped us to live in the moment.

Speaking of moments, this past month has brought lots of fun ones. Here are some highlights:

• Raegan's fascination with her hands has excessively progressed. She'll turn her head from a rattle and widen her eyes towards-you guessed it-her little hands. She has loved, not only playing with her hands-but, also putting them in her mouth. Each time she does it, the germ-a-phobe in me cringes, but the mommy in me smiles.

• Our morning routine now includes Bumbo time! After she has her breakfast, Raegan sits in her Bumbo while mommy has her breakfast. This usually involves more "hand time". :) When she is "over" Bumbo time (and let's be honest, she gets bored pretty quickly), she spends some time on her activity center. Her new favorite part? The kick mat. It's so fun to watch her go!

• This past month, Raegan has been introduced to controversial headband hairbows. "Controversial" because, I always said I'd never put the headband bows in my daughter's hair. Never say never. After hearing one too many people say, "He is so cute", we have welcomed the headband hairbows (and even some over-sized ones) into our world.

  We've noticed that Raegan has turned into a quite little ham; She grins all the time now...especially at her daddy. Chuck can get her tickled so easily. Even though she hasn't started laughing aloud yet (although, I caught her doing it in her sleep one night-Precious!), you can tell as she smiles at Chuck that she's laughing on the inside. One of my favorite times of the day is after her first morning meal when she lays on mine and Chuck's bed and plays, and talks, and coos. She misses her daddy when he gets out of bed and starts getting ready for work...her little eyes search for him non-stop.

• From her bath, to her eating, to reading a book, to saying our prayers: Our whole night time routine continues to be my favorite part of the day. It's truly a family affair (Gabby included). No matter how hectic the day was, it's such a wonderful way to wrap everything up.

• Raegan has also learned to "go with the flow" and sleep anywhere! It's a good thing because I made the decision to be "mobile with a baby". So, while we definitely have a consistent daily flow and a certain time frame when we typically leave the house, we are living our lives!

Even at home, I'm flexible. Air conditioning out in nursery? We'll all just take a nap on the floor, thank you very much.

• This is going to sound crazy to everyone else, but something that I've noticed Raegan doing this past month that I think it the cutest thing is when I'm nursing her-she rubs her little feet together. I don't know why I love it so much. I think, maybe because when I was growing up, I rubbed my feet together to get myself asleep. It just symbolizes comfort to me. I love to think that she is cozy and comfy during such a sweet moment.

• A big milestone this month has been, dum ta dum dum: Finding her thumb! For weeks, it was so fun to watch her searching for it. Then, one day, she found it! Bless her little heart, she has her mommy's long skinny fingers...I'm not sure how much good it will do her. Is this a preface to her being a true thumb sucker? If it is, is that bad? Part of me says that it will help her self soothe when she wakes. The other part says that this will be a habit that will be difficult for us to get her to kick one day. We'll see. What I do know is, there is really no way to stop her so, I say-have at it!

• And, finally, Chuck's favorite memory of this past month has been Raegan's increased interest in grabbing onto our hands and fingers. This is something that she's been doing for a while but she's being a little more aggressive with it now. I can't say that I'm going to love when she starts pulling hair and earrings harder than she does now, but I can say that I don't ever want her to quit reaching out and holding on to us.
